Having a background in Astronomy and Geophysics, my main scientific interest is the application of scattered data approximation theory, and the development of 2D-algorithms for real world geophysical data.
A few years have gone by since I left the Department of Geophysics at the University of Vienna, and what started out as pure fun during my days as a research assistant has become my profession. I am talking about IT, computers, and especially software quality management.
Since September 2002 I am working as a software quality manager at T-Mobile Germany (TMD). I am heading a group of testers being responsible for the quality of TMD's charging and billing engine, as well as for other smaller projects. This is quite a task as the software serves 28 million customers and I am dealing with one of the biggest Oracle installations in Europe. This part of telecommunications and computing is a fascinating and rapidly changing field, being close to the leading edge of technology.
Geographically, I am located in Königswinter, Germany, where I enjoy life with my wife and our two daughters.
I am a member of the Society of Exploration Geophysicists, The Planetary Society, and NUHAG.
